COMMERCIAL TITLE OFFICER - MANDAN, ND

North Dakota Guaranty & Title is excited to be seeking a Commercial Title Officer to expand our team!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         Examine title orders within company guidelines to determine the conditions of the title and insurability by considering the effect of documents such as deeds, mortgages, mechanics liens, state and federal tax liens, judgments, bankruptcy cases, child support liens, property assessments, probates and other   matters of record

·         Examine documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements in order to verify factors such as properties' legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions

·         Maintain proper production levels and delivery standards on a daily basis

·         Confer with realtors, lending institution personnel, buyers, sellers, contractors, surveyors, attorneys and courthouse personnel in order to exchange title-related information or to resolve problems

·         Utilize and research with respective title plant software, and various courthouse systems to analyze and evaluate pertinent record documents for determination of ownership, legal descriptions, title defects and any conjunction to title

·         Explain chain of title, exceptions, and requirements to customers, colleagues, and land owners

·         Obtain and examine maps, plats and drawings, delineating properties from company title plants, county surveyors, and/or assessors' offices

·         Assess risks and liabilities that may jeopardize the company, and bring these matters to the attention of the local title manager, or various underwriters, as deemed appropriate

·         Prepare an accurate and compressive title commitment in accordance with company examining and policy procedures

·         Provide a high level of customer service, including the building of strong relationships with our customers and colleagues

ABSTRACTOR – GRAND FORKS, ND

North Dakota Guaranty & Title is excited to be seeking an Abstractor at our Grand Forks, ND office! (Grand Forks Abstract & Title)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Searching the public record and historic data and abstracting information essential to determining land titles and encumbrances, restrictions and covenants.
  • Gathering and documenting the chain of title for parcels of land.
  • Preparing various types of title reports.
  • Examine documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements in order to verify factors such as properties' legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions
  • Confer with realtors, lending institution personnel, buyers, sellers, contractors, surveyors, attorneys and courthouse personnel in order to exchange title-related information or to resolve problems

Requirements:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable and detail-oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with land documents and land title is preferred.
  • Responsible for researching property records and preparing documents and information for real estate transactions
  • Provide a high level of customer service, including the building of strong relationships with our customers and colleagues
  • Experience in the real estate, title, or banking fields a plus, but not required

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - PROCESSOR – WILLISTON, ND

North Dakota Guaranty & Title Company is expanding our team and has an exciting opportunity for a full time, organized, detail oriented Administrative Assistant-Processor in Williston, ND.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Answer and direct phone calls, receiving customer orders and reviewing them for accuracy.
  • Search and obtain tax and special assessment information from various cities and counties.
  • Search and examine various name searches for Judgments, State and Federal Tax Liens, Bankruptcy, and Child Support Liens.
  • Photocopy, scan and fax documents.
  • Assist customers whom request information.
  • Assist with overflow work as requested by management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is desired.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma, Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
